How much ARDEX CD will it take to resurface a driveway or sidewalk?

ARDEX CD Fine
20lb. bag covers 120 sq. ft.

ARDEX CD Regular
40lb. bag covers 120 sq. ft.

 For more info see coverage.

INDEX
Should ARDEX CD be sealed?
Yes -  sealing concrete is always recommended.  Sealers help to protect concrete from contaminants and de-icing chemicals.  A quality, breathable, water-borne sealer, such as ARDEX Concrete Guard, be applied just 2 hours after installation. Follow the manufacturer’s directions, especially when it comes to ongoing maintenance and re-sealing. For more info see sealing.

INDEX
How thick can the CD be installed?
ARDEX CD can be applied as thick as 1/2” to patch spalls and “pop-outs.” ARDEX CD is not intended to be installed as a thick coating. A thin application is all that is needed for resurfacing concrete. For more info see thickness.

INDEX
What is the pot life of ARDEX CD?
ARDEX CD has a pot life of about 30 minutes.  If the product begins to set in the bucket, simply re-mix with a margin trowel or drill and mixing paddle.  NEVER ADD MORE WATER!  Additional water will weaken the application. For more info see pot life.

INDEX
What if the new surface gets wet before it dries?
Water from rain or sprinklers should not come in contact with the new surface for at least 12 hours after installation.  Early exposure to water can sometimes cause spotting.  If spotting occurs, wet the affected area with plain water and spray with a solution of 3 parts water and 1 part white vinegar.  Keep the area wet with the solution (misting again if necessary) for 10 minutes and hose off.  Repeat if necessary. Avoid exposing the new surface to freezing temperatures for 24 hours, and never cover the surface while it drying. For more info see curing.

INDEX
Is Ardex CD suitable for commercial applications?
The product is suitable for rubber tire traffic in light commercial environments.  The product is not recommended for truck loading docks or heavy industrial environments. For more info see range of application.

INDEX
Can Ardex CD be used around swimming pools?
Yes, around pools is fine.  However, the product is not intended to be used in areas permanently submerged in water such as inside swimming pools or fountains. For more info see range of application.

INDEX
Can bricks or asphalt be resurfaced with ARDEX CD?
No. It can only be applied to concrete surfaces. For more info see substrate preparation.

INDEX
Can it be colored?
Yes.  Use coloring agents formulated specifically for concrete.  Always mix the pigment with the water before adding the powder and mixing.  Color test a small area and let it dry before doing the entire surface, as the concrete will change color as it dries. For more info see color.
